Happy New Years, ya’ll!

by Lessa

I know, I took an unexpected couple of weeks off, but rest assured that I will be back on the Britney news train for the new year! We’ve the Tour coming up, and likely more drama than we can shake a stick at! After all - it’s reported that tonight, Britney’s brother, is supposedly getting married TONIGHT, with all the family in attendance. To who? it seems that Bryan is set to marry Jamie Lynn’s manager, Graciella Sanchez in New Orleans, where even Britney is said to be attending.

Still no wedding bells for Jamie Lynn and her baby daddy, Casey Aldridge though, but there’s no shortage of rumors for who Britney’s hooking up with lately! In fact, it seems that every man within 30 yards is suddenly her new fling. The latest wild reports have her jetting off to India with a new choreographer, bollywood instructor Sandip Soparrkar the firing of her old one, and all of this without Papa Spears knowing anything about it…

Yeah, I know, right?

According to the source over at Gossip Girls, though, they had a romantic date together for Christmas, where “Sandy” gave Britney a traditional Indian sari that she wore during their dinner by candlelight, giggling and whispering throughout their traditional dishes like Chicken tikka and Cottage Cheese Curry.

E! online, however, is on the scene with some pesky facts straight from more sources closer to Brit, and they say the UK’s babblings about the relationship and the trip to India were a complete fabrication. Which is good, considering she’s supposed to be at a wedding tonight, right? Right!

What we do know is that it’s been an awesome 2008 for Britney and we can’t wait for 2009 and all that is to come!

Happy New Year, ya’ll!

Home again, home again!

by Lessa

Britney returned home from Japan yesterday, looking a little tired, but confident as she made her way through LAX, past the paps to her car and home. She seemed to have a great time in Japan, loving the tiny cars and the time spent sampling the local eateries and sight seeing. And, of course, shopping.

Things aren’t so happy for Lily Allen, who did a cover of Britney’s Womanizer, and sent it to Mark Ronson to play on his radio show. She’s in a bit of trouble for it, though she swears she asked Ronson to talk over it, so that it couldn’t be ripped and spread around. The execs of her EMI record label? Not happy, Jan! She’s since apologized, but again, placed the blame on Ronson, instead of the fact she covered the song and sent it to him in the first place!

According to Lily - she covered the song because she loved it and Britney, but had no intention of zipping it around the world. When Mark Ronson asked her fo something no one had heard to play on the show, it conveniently was the only thing she had on her blackberry to send in time. She blames him for getting her into trouble.

See, we’re loving that Britney is taking responsibility for herself and getting her act together. Perhaps if Lily loves her so much, she should take note… hm?

In other news - remember the other day when I mentioned that Hollywood Rag was reporting that K-Fed wanted back with our girl? Yeah, not so much hm? Yesterday, K-Fed was seen out and about with a new gal pal, Victoria Prince. She was a volleyball star, apparently, and is part of K-Fed’s bowling team, the “Party Animals”.

I should probably be more surprised that K-Fed has a bowling team, but somehow? I’m not.

Either way, it’s nice to see that both Britney and K-Fed seem to be happy this holiday season. Apart.

Britney on Ellen and in Japan

by Lessa

Before Britney headed off to Japan to continue her promotional tour for Circus she stopped by the set of Ellen for a little tomfoolery and Christmas Cheer. And Vandalism - because without it, it just wouldn’t be Ellen! After showing little hints about the fun all week, today was the day for the whole segment to appear on Ellen’s show - in case you missed it (and heck, it hasn’t even AIRED here yet, ya’ll! Doesn’t start for another 10 minutes!), folks have it on youtube already. Check it out!

Looks like they had fun - though the poor neighbors weren’t to sure what to think, hm? Could they have picked any quieter calmer neighbors?! I’m sorry, if Ellen and/or Britney showed up at MY door? I’d be a LEETLE more excited. Just sayin’! Then again, in Alaska, it’s not quite so common place, right? Right.

While in Japan, Britney has gone out to Sushi, loved the little cars, and of course, performed her Womanizer routine on the popular Hey, Hey, Hey. She’s getting her groove back, that’s for sure - this was the best, more relaxed performance of Womanizer yet! Her tour is bound to be terrific, she’s looking good, and seems to be feeling good too. (and I’m sure my buddy Danny will be thrilled to write a review for us since he’s going to see her in Florida!)

In other news - Hollywood Rag is reporting that sources say Kevin wants to give it another shot with our golden girl. According to what a ’source’ told Britain’s Look magazine, Kevin has been staying over with her a lot and expects them to fall back into the old relationship easily.

Not so sure this source can be credited as knowing wtf they’re talking about, hm?

The Circus Top is Rising!

by Lessa

..and rising and rising and rising! Britney’s brand spanking new album, Circus, is number one! According to the Billboard 200, Circus sold over half a million copies in the first week, giving her the second biggest female debut of the year. Bigger then Madonna, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, and even Beyonce! Manager, Larry Rudolph has been all about, gushing over the success, declaring Britney America’s pop princess and that this success just confirms that. He added that Professionally, Britney is feeling great - I just hope they’re watching out for her personally too.

By the way - Blackout” is back on the Billboard charts too at #198!

Of course, with every success, someone has to try and drag our girl down, and it’s no surprise that it’s PETA - they’ve declared her use of Elephants on her tour is unethical. Naturally. The owners of the animals, “Have Trunk Will Travel” have snapped back right away, insisting all the animals were treated very well. Kari Johnson, owner and trainer, said “The American Humane Association monitors animal action in film and television. A representative was on the set of Britney Spears Circs Video with our elephants Tai and Kitty to ensure their safety and well fare.”

Britney isn’t concentrating on that though - choosing instead to concentrate on her upcoming tour - which is adding dates every day. The Sun got a sneak peak, and it looks to be a fantastic show! The concert will be a three act bonanza that will cover Britney’s rise to fame, fall, and recovery. The first act has her miserable and running away to join the circus, with her meltdown the second act, and a finale act that focuses on her salvation - prying herself from the circus to be reunited with friends and family - she’ll emerge at the end of a rainbow after an indoor thunderstorm!

It’s THE can’t miss show of the year!

Britney is thankful to all her fans - and tells us so below. Enjoy!

Britney was seen in LAX today, where she met her dad and is headed overseas for some more Circus Promotion. Along with being number one here - it’s also number one in Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil and Taiwan! The single is number 3, and rising - while Shattered Glass is already at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100, and If U Seek Amy is #86.

You go girl!

The CIRCUS Video!

by Lessa

Catchy, ain’t it? Hard to get it out of your head once it’s there.

I woke up singing along, so figured I’d best get this up here for you all, hm?

Join me and my Ear Worm!

Britney’s intro at the Rockerfeller Center in NYC:

Here’s a video of Britney on stage for the lighting of the LA Christmas tree, too!

Britney’s Bewbs are party girls too!

by Lessa

After the smashing success of her appearance on Good Morning America, Britney - and her boobs - celebrated her birthday at the trendy Tejune night club in style! We know it was stylish, as Project Runway’s Heidi Klum showed up, and quite possibly told her that her bewbs were either in, or they were out. (Yes, I know, I’d be a SMASH at these parties, wouldn’t I?) Rumor has it that Heidi asked Britney to be a guest judge on the upcoming season, wherever and whenever it may air. Score!

After the GMA Performance boy bander and Star Dancer, Lance Bass had nothing but praise for the popstar. He told People that this will be “the biggest comeback of all time!” and that Britney is doing an amazing job and he’s proud of her. Awww.

Lance isn’t the only one talking to People, either. Baby-daddy, Kevin Federline opened up recently about his relationship with Britney, and their boys. He remembers the first time he met Briney, and how they hit it off right away, and the day of their wedding was the happiest moment of his life. As for what went wrong, he focused so much on their children, and it was simply hard. She filed for divorce and blindsided him, but he wants everyone to know tht he fought for his kids, not for money. The kids are the most important thing to him, and he’s pleased that things are finally getting better. “There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.”

On her birthday, Britney also taped a segment for Wednesday’s Tree lighting ceremony in New York City, spent the next day showering her boys with love at famed FAO Shwartz, and most recently was seen lighting up LA last night, as well. She took part in the Light of the Angels Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at the LA Live entertainment complex and with a flip of the candy cane swich, joined the Mayor and councilwoman in turning on the lights. It’s been a big week for our girl!

Circus Review - pt 3!

by Lessa

Hey ya’ll! Since I can do the snarky comments without thinking, and post pictures galore, I thought it’d be nice for you all to hear a review from someone who simply ‘gets’ music - unlike my “yeah, I like it.” type of comments! So, here’s my buddy Danny, who’s going to walk you through the album that he adores! Enjoy as we continue song by song…

BLUR - Blur is another off the road of Circus Clowns song, and unfortunately shows “bleeping” at it’s worst. You see, in the beginning of the song, Britney states “turn the lights out, the shit is way to fucking bright.” Only problem is - It’s like scratched out, in a twisted, obnoxious way. Why? Who knows, because she’s certainly said worse things. ANYWAYS, the song is pretty good lyric-wise, but the beat of the song has a sort of annoying undertone that I can’t get over. Blur mainly focuses on Britney’s ‘blurry’ days over the past few years. “Where the hell am I? Who are you? What’d we do last night?” and “Everything is still a blur” are just a few lines from the blurry eighth track.

MMM PAPI - Mmm Papi is certainly a clown’s song, and fits the theme of the album most perfectly. It’s a completely orginal song for Britney, and sounds nothing like her previous work. Mmm Papi has a mexican-festive type beat to it, with a high-pictched Britney screaming “Ooh Papi love you, Ooh Papi love you” and “Ooh lovey, Ooh lovey, Ooh PAPI!” Consider this the clowns-on-stilts part of the circus.

MANNEQUIN - Another of my personal favorites - the tenth track of the album - It’s got a dancy beat, with a high-powered Britney mega-voice. This song is another jab at the Paparazzi, with the main line being “My face like a Mannequin”, although other’s would disagree. The lyrical content is not 100% in it, like the rest of the album. But it’s certainly another great listen.

LACE AND LEATHER - Now that we are nearing the end of circus, Britney feels the need to walk the rope, above alligators in sexy black boots and lace and leather. Oh yeah, it’s that sexy. This song reminds me of a really dirty dance club, with go-go dancers and strippers. Yum! With a rhythimatic, dancy and overall studded diamond beat and the powerful sexy lyrics to match, this song is one of the best.

MY BABY - The actual end of the original album, My Baby is a slow, beautiful song obviously dedicated to Britney’s babies. “Cuz’ without you, how did I get through? All of my days, without you” and “See everything’s true, my baby it’s you, my baby, my baby, my baby.” My Baby is the true feelings, dedication and emotions that Britney feels for her two boys, and it shows. Her voice comes across strong, powerful and filled with love. My Baby is the song in the credits of the circus.

BONUS // ROCK ME IN - Rock Me In is a bonus song on one of the versions of Circus. As a single, this song is amazing. It’s got a fast, fast beat to it and some great lyrics to match.

Thank you Danny! You rock! As does Britney, of course! What are ya’ll waiting for? Go get the album TODAY!

Circus Review - pt 2!

by Lessa

OUT FROM UNDER - Out From Under is a slower show. The clowns have to catch their breath you know ! This song has a deep connection to Britney’s past few troubled years, with lines like “I don’t wanna feel the pain” and “I don’t want to dream about, all the things that never were.” Gearing towards the end of the album, Britney cheers up a little bit, stating “We’ve tried everything we could try, so let’s just say goodbye.” (Evidentally, another K-Fed jab)

KILL THE LIGHTS - Back to the fast-paced, kick-ass songs. In the beginning of Kill The Lights, Britney claims Madonna’s title of Queen of Pop. “You don’t like me, I don’t like you - it don’t matter” is only the beginning. This song is a complete jab at those dirty photographers that wouldn’t leave her alone! It’s a nice work-up of pop, jabs and sexy dancing though. Lights! Camera! Action!

SHATTERED GLASS - Shattered Glass hits somewhere in the middle of dancy and slowy. Is that even a word? Anyways, it’s another song about a broken relationship. This is the one theme that is a little overplayed throughout the album. But it’s still a great song! Britney questions the mystery man about whether he feels guilty about what he did, etc… Then proceeds to state “you can’t come back, because all we had is broken, like shattered glass.” and “your world falls apart, like shattered glass.”

IF U SEEK AMY - This is another one of my personal favorites - which requires a lengthy discussion. First, let’s talk about the meaning of the song. Say If U Seek Amy 5 times fast. *pauses, waits, twittles* FUCK ME. Haha! That’s right, Britney has originally made a Disney-friendly way to gloat that everyone wants to fuck her. Now, the song is simply amazing. The tempo and beats are 100% original and unique. “Oh baby, baby.. have you seen Amy tonight? Is she in the bathroom, is she smoking up outside” opens the song, which again is personally related to Britney. The song really gets interesting when the chorus hits, with the simple line of “All of the boys and all of the girls are BEGGING to (FUCK ME) if you seek Amy”. It’s simply mind-shattering once you figure it out right? Right?

UNUSUAL YOU - “Nothing about you is typical, nothing about predictable… You got me all twisted and confused” opens the seventh song from the album. This song touches on the love-factor again - but in an unexpected way. It has an angelic tone to it, not to fast - but not to slow. Not spectacular, but not horrible either. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, which is what we’re all after anyways, right?

Circus Review - pt 1!

by Lessa

Enjoy!

Welcome to the show everyone! Britney Spears has had an amazing day, with record breaking sales on her latest album, entitled “Circus”. This is Britney’s seventh album, the forthcoming of last years “Blackout”.

Circus contains many potential hits and suggests that it will have a significant shelf life. Since I’m SUCH a huge fan, and a great friend of Lessa’s (gotta love the benefits ), she’s so graciously let me a write a review of the album, which I have had for weeks and am totally stoked about. I haven’t STOPPED listening too it! So let’s go with the review for now, and we’ll dicuss the options after…

CIRCUS:

WOMANIZER - Womanizer is an up-tempo, top-40 smashing song. It’s a nice intro to the album, but doesn’t really go with the “circus theme” that the rest of the album has. Womanizer is more or less the opening act, and not to be confused with the actual show. Many have noted that this song certainly is about Justin Timberlake or K. Fed, and with good reason - “Boy don’t try to front, I know just what you are.”

CIRCUS - Circus is the opening act, of the main show. The song is 100% amazing - certainly one of the best of the album. It’s a sexy, no-holds-barred dance song. “I’m like a firecracker, I make it hot // When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip ” and other lyrics suggest that Britney is in control - which is certainly the case here. This will be the second single from the album and should certainly stick at #1 for quite some time.

Happy Birthday, Britney!

by Lessa

Today’s the day! Our girl turns 27, and the much anticipated album is officially released! Not only that, but the documentary for MtV, Britney: For the Record had outstanding ratings, as millions tuned in to get a glimpse of the popstar up close and personal. I watched, and was startled by two things - I don’t think I’ve listened to her talk that long in quite some time, and I was stunned by her accent. I don’t know, I guess I just never really thought about her being quite so southern. Heh. And two - there’s something in her eyes, a sadness, something that just hasn’t quite been shaken yet. Perhaps it’s simply a knowing, and a promise that she’s getting better, or maybe it’s a harbinger of troubles yet to come. Worrisome, but hopefully she’s in good hands.

Either way, after record breaking ratings in London for the X-Factor, Britney arrived at Good Morning America this morning for her birthday party and Circus celibration, fittingly in a rooftop BigTop! She performed the single, Circus, as well as Womanizer, while Dad, Mom and the boys Jayden and Sean watched proudly from the stands.

Check her out!

Not only that, but at the tail end of her interview, Britney announced - officially! - that she WILL be going on tour, staring in MARCH! Opening for her will be the Pussycat Dolls! Naturally, Alaska isn’t on the tour date list, but no one ever braves the cold to come here. Heh. For those of you in the states though - the list of tourdates is after the cut!

Back in the USA!

by Lessa

After a third performance last night in London at Simon Cowell’s X-Factor

Britney headed to a night club where she was to celebrate her birthday with a few(hundred) London friends and fans. The reports are mixed, however, with several Londonites complaining that she didn’t make the appearance she was supposed too, disappointing fans who have been supportive of her comeback effort.

While she did not appear on stage at the notorious G-A-Y nightclub, she did appear on the balcony where she was serenaded by the club goers, and presented with a cake and candles to blow out.

While most outlets are reporting this as a successful mini-tour, there are others who aren’t so sure… most noteably Perez Hilton and his band of fans. Perez has said all along he thinks this comeback is coming back too soon - that Britney was pressured to put out the album earlier then she should have. He worries (in his smart-assed and white-pen-on-pictures way) that the promotion is too much too soon, and his readers seem to agree. Several reported to Perez about her failure to live up to the hype at G-A-Y, where she was supposed to perform. Larry Rudolf surveyed the crowd, where a large space was cleared, then later a guy from the stage said that yes, Britney was in the building but wasn’t going to appear. The crowd, of course, went wild, with injuries and the like as well. Apparently Londoners felt it was a slap in the face that she didn’t make an appearance that lived up to what they expected - though she DID appear, as seen on the video.

The album is receiving mixed reviews, too. Some love it, some hate it, some love parts and hate others, while still others love every beat and vocal they’ve heard. Typical!

Britney is back in the US now, having landed at JFK earlier this morning. She’s preparing for the official launch of her Circus with a GMA appearance on her actual birthday on Tuesday, and her mini-documentary For The Record will be shown tonight on MTV.

Despite the naysayers, everyone here at BSW is 100% pulling for Britney to knock this comeback out of the park! At least she looks FABULOUS on the cover of Glamour!

Britney’s nervous, but on stage!

by Lessa

While we were all stuffing ourselves full of Turkey dinners with all the trimmings, Britney was in Germany, then Paris, getting her stage legs back under her. Her first performance was a little stiff, and you could tell Britney was feeling a bit unsure about the performance. She managed to loosen up, and started to relax for the last 35-45 seconds of the performance - check it out!

She also took home a Bambi herself, winning the award for the Best International Pop Star!

The next night saw Britney in Paris, for her much anticipated appearance on France’s version of Idol, Star Academy. She smiled and waved from the hotel balcony to the paparazzi, looking content and glad to be there - happier than ever! Her performance went a little better - it was a very similar routine, with a lot of walking around and posing, with dancing and singing tossed about. This time, however, you can tell that she’s starting to relax, falling into the performance groove right away - despite having to pull up her dress a couple of times to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. ha!

Britney’s looking good and everything seems to be falling into place for her big day - her 27th Birthday as well as the official debut of Circus! Even her mother has made sure that everyone knows how proud she is of Britney and how far she’s come in the past months, telling the press that she’s on the right track “with a lot of love and care and help.” She continued to say there are a lot of people who care for Britney, and sometimes you just have to stop, and think and settle down, and how now - especially with the kids - at home “where there’s nobody around, she’s very normal.”

Here’s hoping the good things continue! Enjoy the pictures of Britney’s performance and acceptance of the Bambi award in Germany!

Britney on the Cover of Rolling Stone!

by Lessa

As Britney prepares for appearances in Germany this week in a mini-tour to put the final touches on Circus Promotional moves and grooves - the whole nation is eagerly awaiting this weeks Rolling Stone as it sports our girl on the cover, looking content and secure and ready to take on the world again! Bits and pieces of the interview have been revealed, and some folks are zeroing in on some of the sadder aspects of it, just as they have the clips for the upcoming For The Record documentary playing on the 30th.

It’s clear that Britney has matured over the past year, and she feels the difference though she also feels like a “old person now” going to bed at like 9:30 every night, not going out and being homebody. Her manager, Larry Rudolph is back along the ride and has been instrumental in helping her get this far. Of the album he says “This is going to be the album that cements her legend status.” After listening to the album recently - I’d have to say that he’s probably right - it’s a beautiful album, and I am pretty sure it’s going to be an instant hit.

Also in the interview they dig a little into past relationships, as well as the current dating situation - chaperoned! She’s had a couple of dates that were “just bad. He looked like an older version of Harry Potter, but skinnier…I had to get desert first.” They also talk about her kids, and how thrilled she is to see them and how special she finds them to be - even though they’re learning new words… including the F-word. Ha! Not from HER of course, but all us parents say that!

Below is an interview with the writer of the Rolling Stone interviews - both last January, and the one hitting the stands on Friday - articles that are worlds apart in feel. Check it out!

Circus and For The Record!

by Lessa

The new documentary, For the Record, is all set to air on Sunday, and little snippets have been appearing all over the web - from the promos of a laughing, happy Britney, to the more serious, tearful moments that have spread like wildfire. On this road to her comeback, Britney has had many ups and downs after her very public breakdown, and feels she’s still being punished for it. Along with that, she also admits to striving to find her passion, that she feels every day is groundhog day. She admits that “There’s no excitement, no passion. I have really good days, then I have bad days. Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out.”

Feeling that things are too ‘in control’, she wishes she weren’t undr the restraints she’s under, and worries that when she tells folks what she’s feeling, they aren’t listening. “I’ve learnt my lesson. Enough is Enough.”

What’s unclear is where in the documentary this occurs - as it seems a far cry from the excited Britney the promos show, as well as the Britney we’re seeing excited about the upcoming album. We won’t know until we get to see the actual documentary, but it’s obvious that Britney is fighting hard for her comeback, and will continue to do so.

The promotional spots for Circus are in full swing too, as well as the preparations for a tour are in the works. In fact, there is an interview just released this morning where Britney talks about Circus and the making of - check it out!

After the cut - check out the promo’s for the documentary and be sure to turn in to MTV on November 30 to see it!

Jayden James is ok!

by Lessa

Late last night, the entire Spears clan in Louisiana sped out of their home in an emergency trip to the hospital in two big SUVs, one driven by Britney, with her boys and her parents in the car, the other driven by her sister, with her brother and others. Jamie Lynn kept her wits about her, and drove slowly next to other cars side by side on the highway, to allow her sister to pull away and get a head start on the 25 mile drive to the nearest hospital. It worked - by the time the paparazzi arrived, the entire family was already inside, seeing to the health of Jayden.

It was reported today that Jayden had had an adverse reaction to something he ate, leaving him in a “vague and unresponsive” state. He was admitted to the Southwest Mssissippi Regional Medical Centre, where the 2 year old little boy was admitted for overnight observation while they attempted to determine exactly what had happened.

Sources say that it was chaos, shortly after Jayden suffered a suspected seizure out of the blue. “One minute Britney andher sons were relaxing, and the next minute Jayden had fallen ill”. Britney called for an ambulance, but when they told her it would take half an hour to arrive, the entire family mobilized in minutes to drive there themselves.

The most recent reports say that Jayden James has bene released, though they’re not sure what caused the aleregic reaction just yet. Britney, after spending the night at the hospital and refusing to leave little Jayden’s side, was seen taking her son home once more where hopefully they’ll be able to enjoy the rest of their week’s stay in Louisiana with her family. Get well soon, lil guy!
